We are a small family run business in Warminster, Wiltshire, established in 1995.
We offer a gilt restoration service, sympathetically restoring antique gilt mirrors, picture frames and furniture using traditional materials and 23 carat gold leaf.
I have recently taken on an apprentice, my daughter, whom I am delighted to be working alongside and equally delighted to be passing on this traditional skill to someone that I know is eager to learn and master her craft. This traditional skill has become all too rare.
We work for private customers, antique traders as well as interior designers and over the years have embarked on a wide variety of work for places such as Longleat House and Wilton House. At St Peters Church Dorchester I was commissioned to restore the ceiling bosses, giving me a head for heights!
Other interesting projects have included restoring the organ pipes at the local Minster Church where I brought the pipes back to their original gilt and repaired the gilding where necessary.
We also restore oil paintings, offering cleaning, re-touching, varnishing and re-lining where necessary.
We have a stock of Victorian and Edwardian English mirrors, which have been lovingly and sympathetically restored and we are passionate about retaining as much of the original gold as well as the original glass as possible, we can of course replace this upon request. The furniture section of the shop is the remaining stock from my late husbands business Isabella Antiques, he dealt in good quality Georgian and Victorian mahogany, rosewood and some satinwood furniture.
Delivery can be arranged through a reputable courier that specialises in handling delicate goods.
